In a context basically defined by the debit and credit cash flow, how can one explain the production and commercial strategies of MTV Europe and of CHANNEL 4 Television in the 80?s and 90?s, or of KONINCK & ILLUMINATIONS Television even today? Even more interesting: how can one justify the fact that it was exactly because of that attitude that those companies achieved dominant competitive positions in the international market? At this Conference we will have the presence of Clare Kitson (former producer at CHANNEL 4, Uk ), Keith Griffiths (producer and founder at KONINCK & ILLUMINATIONS Television) and Peter Dougherty (former director of MTV EUROPE). They will explain causes, contexts, goals, methodologies, issues and setbacks within their projects, which lead to the international acknowledgment and good financial health of their companies. We will confront them with our questions and our own experience.
