This paper was presented at the CAL'07 Conference in Dublin, March 26-28, 2007. We analyse two cases of blended learning on campus in the light of diffusion theory and Causal Layered Analysis. We propose that adoption of ICT works faster on the systemic level than on world view and the sense making levels. And that this may well account for some of the present disillusionment with e-learning. Further, we argue that e-learning already has had a significant impact on our world view and understanding of education and that questions of augmentation or disruption should be studied over a long period of time.
