an empirical evaluation of the contingent approach to dynamic capabilitiesuna evaluación empírica del enfoque contingente de las capacidades dinámicas
A model setting forth competitiveness in an organization setting is being put forwards and tried out in this paper. To do so, this approach includes different notions of the dynamic capability approach, the contingency theory, and the vision of a natural resource-based company. The hypothesis that uncertainty as perceived in the business setting somehow abates the relationship between the dynamic capability engrained in the proactive environmental strategy and the competitive advantage, is drawing upon data collected on the basis of a survey of 129 companies in Bogotá, and a partially restricted approach of latent interaction structural equation models. Survey outcomes show that both, the uncertainty as perceived of customer preferences, and changes in the environmental strategy being pursued by competitors, as well as the uncertainty concerning environmental resources and services are moderating the relationship between environmental processes and practices having a bearing on the product and cost advantages.
