In the Mühlberg-Ensemble in Kempten, a group of three late medieval citizen's houses, a complex of concealed shoes was found. The shoes follow the stylistic development between 1470 AD until 1530 AD. The post-medieval ones have not been made in the contemporary welted technique, but stick to the medieval turnshoe technique.
