This paper presents the empirical findings of a recent survey of Danish managers, with a special focus on managers in smaller companies. The survey, called the 'Danish Management Barometer', is part of a joint research programme between the Aarhus School of Business and the Danish Association of Managers and Executives. The aim of the survey, which is based on a structured, pre-tested questionnaire sent to 1500 pre-notified managers in Denmark, is to establish a database for use in monitoring and identifying interesting changes and patterns within a broad range of managerial and organisational issues.
