Observations on animal imagery and Old Testament theologyOvervejelser over dyrebilleder og gammeltestamentlig teologi
The article gives examples from the Old Testament of the lion as image of God and shows how this image is part of various stories about lions, shepherds and sheep. It is discussed whether Yahweh was ever worshipped in the image of an animal and it is argued that the combination of anthropomorphic and theriomorphic metaphors signals the divine.
