This paper presents a practical method to design a Differential Mode EMI filter for fuel cell powered isolated full bridge dc-dc boost converter. As the input voltage of such converter is inherently low with very high dc and ripple currents and since the EMI limits also does not change for such application, it calls for a carefully optimized EMI filter which is designed and implemented in this work. Moreover, the negative input impedance of the regulated converter is extremely low; well-designed filter damping branch is also included. Differential mode noise is analyzed analytically for a 3KW/400V boost converter. Simulation and experimental results are recorded and published.
